Sorry for the recent downtime during December. For various reasons including it being basically the only server available at the time, this server is a virtual machine hosted on a Hyper-V hypervisor, the backup service caused a problem with the storage which then caused the virtual machine to lock up. This took out the web server, (this one), the DDL server and the legacy database server. Unfortunately the lock up initially wasn't enough to notice and so the site looked to be ok, but over further backups the problem got worse. We will use a different backup solution from now on.

This site dates back to somewhere around 2016 after we merged with FTV and the code is a mix of 2016 and 2012 releases, the 2016 part was built inside the IPB forum software while the 2012 part was built standalone and only used the forum for login. The IPB forum software (on this retro fork) is so far out of date it has been closed as it is a huge security risk, that is the whole reason it was replaced on the modern main site with the shiny new Xenforo forum and gallery.
The plan for this site is to fully revert to the 2012 code base and de-integrate the IPB forum, making this a fully stand alone site. Once that is complete the next phase will be to integrate the modern code from the latest release to operate the back end system but allowing us to keep the retro style and theme.
